This paper proposes to address a common topic in the automotive industry, namely the finishing process of the auto hoods. Unlike current industry solutions, this theme seeks to both “digitize” the process (IoT) by complementing the predominant use of robots only and expanding production flexibility by using automated systems for storing and changing end-effectors for robots. Also, the operation of the cell and its testing is performed using the simulation and off-line programming environment Tecnomatix Process Simulate, being used both sensors and logical decision blocks. The design of the robotic cell and its arrangement are made based on my own vision and has been subject to change during development. The very proposal of the theme is to obtain a small cycle time and respectively to load the robots as efficiently as possible
