The percentage of older people is growing globally. Consequently, healthcare systems and biomedical innovations are needed to help the elderly living alone. Such an innovation can reduce the number of falls that usually lead to critical accidents. In this article, scientific data are presented on the growing number of elderly people in the world population together with a proposal for assistive equipment represented by a multifunctional assistive chair and its versions.
