Study of the characteristics of cardboard packaging for refrigerated and frozen foods

The paper highlights that frozen foods, through their specific characteristics, require from the design stage of the packaging a rigorous study of all materials involved, and their interactions, for the subsequent maintenance of the refrigeration chain. The development of green and environmentally friendly cardboard, with moisture-resistant agents such as polylactic acid and soy protein membrane, as well as the ecological progress of moisture-resistant coatings, must become a priority.
