Theoretical research about automated sorting system for mechanical parts

The paper presents a research for improvement with automation of a sorting and orienting vibratory bowl feeder. In this paper is highlighted the importance and eficiency of orientation in order to prepare the parts for the sorting process. For their improvment it is studied the replacement of the mechanical devices, hard to build, with vision inspection and analyzing systems based on image processing in real time. For this, a software application is developed in Labview, which can recognize the orientation of a screw using NI Vision modules.
