The purpose of this research paper is to describe the most important aspects of a real time localization system based on the UWB technology. The described system shall be integrated in industrial transportation robotic applications and its purpose is to assist the navigation and guidance systems of the autonomous vehicles. Details of the system will be presented, such as the communication protocol, the structure of the data packets and the software used for controlling the devices.
