This article’ purpose is to compare the two technologies used for cutting of the printed materials: analog technology and digital technology. The working principle of analog techniques requires the use of a rotary or flatbed die, usually manufactured with external suppliers, preparation of the die-press for the stamping operation by continuously adjusting the pressures and some cutting rules for the printed sheet. The working principle of digital technologies involves the use of only one press. In the machine software the cutting file is loaded. The cutting process will be realized using a laser capsule. The comparison between these technologies take in consideration the configuration timing, number of operators, advantages and disadvantages of each technology individually.
