The paper deals with the comparison between two types pf machining Inconel 718 alloy by milling and sinking electrical discharge machining (EDM). This material was characterized by its properties, and in connection its applicability. 3D modeling was achieved in SolidWorks, CNC program and milling simulation in PowerMill. The milling operation was achieved on CNC machining center. Later, the tool-electrode was machined on another, CNC, and its technical control was done on coordinate measuring machine. Then EDM was achieved on a CNC specialized machine. Finally, the obtained results were compared by a technical-economic analysis, the optimum variant being established, respective the EDM operation. A finite element analysis was approached in order to compare the behavior at EDM of Inconel 718 alloy and the usual high alloyed steel, C120.
